Why your brand agency should deliver your new website
A brand is more than just a logo - it's the feeling people get when they interact with your product, service, or organisation. As Marty Neumeier puts it, it’s a gut feeling. And in today’s digital-first world, your website is often the first and most important brand touchpoint.
At Red Dog, we believe successful branding starts with understanding the bigger picture, digging into your goals, your audience, and what you want to achieve from the outset. That’s why we recommend keeping brand identity and website design under one roof. When strategy and design work hand in hand from the beginning, you get a more cohesive, effective result when it comes to your website, with four key benefits:
A beautiful brand identity only works if it translates seamlessly online and this is not achieved by just applying the brand guidelines to the website, but it’s about expanding the world of the brand.
When we worked with Comhairle na nÓg, we designed both the visual brand system and the website thinking about every output and interaction from day one. From motion and micro-interactions to thoughtful user journeys, the website feels like a natural extension of the brand. We are delighted to report that this site has just been shortlisted for a Digital Media Award 2025 - so fingers crossed!
Navigating the gap between branding and web design and then the gap between web design and development is often a big stumbling block and tends to be where the difference between good and great work lies.
Our teams (both designers & developers) work closely together from the outset. This collaborative approach was key in the development of the Building Change website for example, where design decisions (such as the use of imagery, colour & typography) were directly tied to the development approach & technical requirements needed to deliver a website that achieved an A carbon rating.
Behind every brand identity and website projects there are hours of research, workshops, strategy and a lot of post-its (or Miro Boards!). While each phase and deliverable requires its own discovery tools, working with one team across multiple projects allows to have all the right people around the same table. With the benefit of not only increased efficiency, but also deeper understanding. This type of holistic approach is very beneficial especially when websites are designed in parallel to the brand identity.
With our recent work for PF O’Reilly for example, the design teams were closely aligned around the idea of creating a considered, elegant logotype that explored the idea of transformation, diverse perspectives and the expertise that's woven throughout the PF O’Reilly’s rich 100+ year history. Our UI & UX team worked with the brand designers to integrate the brand’s graphic elements within the interface alongside subtle background transitions & motion interactions. The result is a digital experience that not only reflects PF O’Reilly’s legacy and expertise, but actively invites users to engage with the brand in a way that feels both intuitive and thoughtfully elevated.
A website is never static and must be maintained so it can grow with the brand and the business. Adding new pages, integrating new functionalities, or adjusting the design to keep pace with industry trends has the potential to create brand drift and generate inconsistent brand experiences.
Back in 2022, we worked with Clinch Wealth Management on both their brand and website, ensuring every touchpoint worked in harmony. Since launch, our collaboration has continued, expanding their site with features like a dedicated news section and conducting in-depth accessibility audits to maintain and improve compliance with the EU Accessibility Act which came into force in June 2025 . More than just updates, we've provided ongoing support to help their brand grow with confidence in a constantly evolving digital landscape.
Working on both the visual brand identity and the website for our clients allows us to offer the peace of mind that their brand will excel across all touchpoints, giving our clients confidence that their new brand will thrive in an increasingly digital world.
The only people that care about your visual brand more than you do are the designers that created it, that’s why your brand agency is best placed to deliver your website.
