Tall Order

An uplifting and playful identity for a new coffee roasting and café business in Dundalk that delights through its marriage of abstract patterns and sophisticated design.

Background

Food Solutions Limited (FSL) is a leading provider of premium beverage brands to the restaurant, bar and catering industries. Its latest venture, 'Tall Order,' is a coffee roasting and café business unlike anything currently available in Dundalk or the surrounding area. Tall Order's name occupies an emotional space within FSL and its owner, Paddy Sands, and the Tall Order brand will be imbued with the same culture, values and focus on building long-lasting relationships that FSL's success has been built on. The new café and roastery concept is a place to bring passions together in a place that feels wholesome with a playful, welcoming charm.

The Idea

Our concept personifies the Tall Order brand by infusing it with a distinct voice and character, fostering a deep connection with customers and cultivating a vibrant, engaged community. The logotype is designed to reflect this playful and optimistic spirit, dynamically stretching and flexing to convey energy and adaptability. With its two versatile configurations, the logotype ensures seamless application across all touchpoints, enhancing brand consistency and recognition.

Execution

The visual language employs bold typography paired with uplifting messaging to craft a memorable and distinctive experience. Abstract patterns inspired by the coffee bean—the hero of the experience—add a lifestyle touch. A restrained colour palette of reflex blue, terracotta, and ecru imparts a sophisticated aesthetic to the brand. The overall brand ambience is positive, warm, and inviting, infused with playful elements that surprise and delight.
